A charming little rain forest lodge with golden sandy beaches on the honey-coloured river Pokerero. The committed team – most of them Arawak Indians from the surrounding reservation – gently familiarizes guests with nature and life in the tropical forest. The main house with its salon, open kitchen, dining terrace and bar is situated on the beach. 4 Amerindian-style bungalows offer 8 comfortable rooms.
Location:on Pokerero creek some 1½ hours by car & boat south-west of Georgetown. 15 minutes by boat to the Amerindian village of Santa Mission.

• 1st day: transfer from the international airport or Georgetown to dock on Demerara river; boat trip across narrow, winding jungle rivers to the lodge, night tour along jungle trails for animal watching (with an Amerindian guide).
• 2nd day: in the morning, jungle expedition on foot and in canoes; activities during the day to choose from, afternoon: watch bread making from poisonous cassava roots according to Amerindian tradition, evening: log fire on the beach.
• 3rd day: visit to Arawak village of Santa Mission, return trip.
